Q: My husband is a good man, but he doesn’t want anything to do with the church or with God. I think his problem is that he grew up in a very strict religious home, and he’s never gotten over his rebellion. How can I witness to him about Jesus, when he won’t even talk about it? — M.W.
A: Your husband can continue to be a good man without being religious or believing in a god. There is very strong evidence that the bible is the work of man and not divinely inspired by a god. Therefore, the source of the morality in the bible is mankind, not any god. It sounds like you are comfortable with the moral system that your husband has developed. Maybe you and he should try to focus your relationship on the common morals and values that you do share instead of your religion. Your husband’s unwillingness to discuss religion may not be a sign of rebellion, but one of rationality. Belief in a supernatural god is irrational, and your husband may have come to realize this.

I love this blog and your great common sense answers. I read BG’s article every day, except Sundays, (I wonder why he’s exempt to answer questions on Sundays?) it makes me so damned furious to read the answers that idiot jackass responds to the readers questions.
It doesn’t matter what the question is, it always leads back to god’s divine will or his purpose and the belief in his son jebus.
BTW, I don’t think I could have answered that question any better then you did.
