Q: Recently, our pastor was preaching about heaven, and he said we would spend our time there worshiping God. I hate to admit this, but that doesn’t sound very interesting to me. Most worship is kind of boring to me, frankly. Maybe you can enlighten me. — Z.J.
A: That doesn’t sound interesting to me either*. The Christian god is a jealous god. This is stated many times in the bible and evidenced from the god’s commands to worship and obey it. What kind of god creates people (who he loves) with free will and then commands that they worship and obey it under penalty of eternal damnation? An omnipotent, omniscient god would not do this. The god of the Christian bible does not exist.
You have asked a very good question that indicates you may be on the path to becoming a secular freethinker. I urge you to continue questioning the bible and Christian teachings. You will likely discover that neither holds up to logic and rational scrutiny.
