Q: Was Jesus really dead when they placed Him in the tomb? I can accept most of what Christianity teaches, but to be honest the idea that someone came back from the dead is a bit hard for me to swallow. Maybe Jesus wasn’t really dead, and He just recovered once His body was taken down from the cross. — P.L.
A: History and reason show us that Jesus never existed.
- A vast majority of the stories and themes in the Gospels are recycled from older cultures and religions.
- There is no credible historical account of Jesus’ life outside of the bible.
- The Gospels of the New Testament were written at least 35 years after the supposed death of Jesus and their true authorship is not known.
