Q: I get very discouraged because my faith seems so shaky. Sometimes I have a very strong faith, but then doubts creep in and I begin to wonder if it’s all just an illusion. Is this the way it’s supposed to be?
A: The state of your faith in a god is not supposed to be at any level in particular. It’s likely to be different for every person. It is possible that your faith is weak because the evidence and arguments that support it are also weak, and you are beginning to realize this. There are no religions (that express belief in supernatural beings) that are based on evidence. If there are aspects of your faith that do not make sense, keep asking questions of yourself and fellow believers and consult your religious text (Christian bible, I assume). If you approach these questions rationally, you will soon discover that faith in the supernatural is irrational. The only rational explanation to your questions and doubts is that your god does not exist. In fact, there is no evidence to suggest that any gods exist.
